Lauretta Lucas

LCMHC, NCC

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

I believe therapy should feel both grounding and purposeful. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy and support while also helping you explore healthier patterns of thinking and responding. Together, we will work toward greater understanding, acceptance, and forgiveness — creating space for growth and meaningful change as you move toward a healthier version of yourself.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate &
Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate

If you are carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, trauma, or grief and it feels too hard to manage on your own, you are not alone. As a veteran and a therapist, I understand how overwhelming life can feel and how hard it can be to reach out for support in the first place.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate, holding a Master of Social Work in Advanced Clinical Practice from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Liberty University.

I offer a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can process your experiences at your own pace. Together we will explore what has been weighing on you, build a deeper understanding of your thoughts and emotions, and identify the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

My approach is collaborative and person centered, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help you regulate emotions and develop tools you can use, tools that lead to lasting growth and a stronger sense of self.

Before becoming a therapist, I served in the United States Army and worked in the nursing field. Both taught me that caring for someone means caring for all of them, not just the part that hurts.

Healing does not mean forgetting what happened. It means realizing your past does not get the final word on your future.
